Julia is a colour researcher and a curator of information who loves to plant seeds of collaboration.
Julia Kaleta (1991) graduated with a BA in Fashion Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland. Currently she is finishing the MA Fashion Strategy at ArtEZ, Arnhem. With her graduation collection “Nothing Personal”, she won the First Prize in Creative Valley (a Polish Culture Television contest for young creatives). She was also a semi-finalist for Fashion Stage at Designblok 2014, Prague (CZ) and the Muuse x Vogue Talents Young Vision Award 2014 Womenswear competition.
With a sensitivity for people and nature, Julia has decided never to produce clothes before she can find a way that does not hurt the environment. During her studies she became interested in natural and bio-dyeing practices and focused her artistic research on sustainable colours in fashion. Mapping places, people and events in sustainable fashion reflects her fascination with complexity and connectivity.
Her dream is to become a colour-collector for life.
